My dog ate spinach & peas. Is green poop normal? Can he eat it weekly?

From the photo you provided, it looks like Mishti has quite a bit of grass and plant material in her stool, causing a greenish color. As long as Mishti is acting normal with no sign of vomiting or decreased appetite, this is within the range of normal. Many dogs like to eat grass, and it's only a sign of a problem if there are other GI symptoms present, such as vomiting, weight loss, or decreased appetite.

The green color is likely dye from something your pet ingested. I recommend monitoring the stool to see if it changes back to normal color within the next day or two .Chances are it will. Also monitor Pickles a bit more closely to make sure he isn't ingesting something he shouldn't have. If he starts to have any other symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy or decreased appetite, then its best to have him seen by your local vet. Also, if there is any chance Pickles could have gotten into some kind of rat poison/bait, then he should be seen right away. It wouldn't be a bad idea also to go ahead and give Pickles a probiotic to support a healthy GI tract moving forward. Stool can change color based on what a dog has eaten. Button may have gotten into something in the yard or snatched some people food or had his diet changed. There are some less likely metabolic issues that can cause very green stool but in the absence of other signs I would not be too worried about this. As long as Buttons is acting normal and his stools are formed (not runny or soft) I would not worry.

Changes in stool color can happen, especially if there was a change in the diet. I would not be concerned about a one-time color change if Peggy Sue is otherwise normal. If she has a poor appetite, vomiting, or diarrhea, then she should get checked out by a vet.

This is show in the design of their teeth. They have sharp, blade like molars that are designed for slicing food rather than grinding it. Herbivores, like cows, have molars that are flatter and are made to grind up the plant material. In addition, their digestive system is designed to digest protein and fat, and due to that, they have trouble digesting produce. Produce should therefore be pureed to help them fully digest it. I recommend pureeing the green beans, which may help your dog digest them better.

It could be due to the change in diet. If he otherwise seems fine than continue with the milk replacer and monitor him. Have him examined by a vet if you have any concerns. He will need to be dewormed with a broad spectrum dewormer and vaccinated once he is old enough.
