My dog ate sour cream and onion popcorn. What symptoms to watch for?

Oh dear! Fortunately, I would not expect this to cause any serious problems - neither popcorn nor caramel are considered toxic to dogs. She may have some vomiting or diarrhea for the next day or so, but otherwise no major problems would be expected. It's theoretically possible that she could develop pancreatitis or some other more serious GI illness as a result of eating something she isn't used to, but most dogs in this situation don't become seriously ill. If she is sick for more than 24 hours, or if she stops eating or begins acting very lethargic, it would be best to take her to the vet for an exam as these would be more concerning signs - she may need symptomatic treatment and/or IV fluids and supportive care.

Hello, onion toxicity can cause anemia in both pets and humans. They need to consume a large amount of onion to have evidence of anemia. More likely, pets may develop GI signs such as vomiting, diarrhea, and a decreased appetite. The amount of onion powder in the sauce is likely not enough to cause any severe side effects to Par. You can be more certain about this by calling the Animal Poison Control at (888) 426-4435 and giving them the information about the ingredients and the quantity Par ingested. This is not a toxic food (even if she ate a lot), so I wouldn't be too worried. If she is otherwise acting normal, then it's likely that this just upset her stomach. Usually they vomit once or twice, then get over it. It's best not to feed her until morning while her stomach settles. If she starts vomiting multiple times (three or more) and is acting lethargic or abnormal, then I would be more concerned and recommend a visit to the vet. If you are worried she ingested an object, like a sock or shoe then you would watch for signs of gastrointestinal upset such as vomiting, anorexia, abdominal pain, lethargy, or straining to defecate. If you are worried about a toxin ingestion these signs can vary widely and can include GI upset, rapid breathing or heart rate, excessive drooling, trembling, seizures, drunken appearance/gait, dilated pupils, pale gums, lethargy. If any of these signs occur seek veterinary care right away.

I would watch for vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy and inappetence. If any of these occur I recommend taking Indie to a veterinarian. She could develop pancreatitis from this or just a bad gastrointestinal upset. If she ate any of the bone from the wings they typically dissolve in the stomach but sometimes can cause more harm. I would recommend to monitor him at this stage and if you notice any sign of vomiting (or trying to without success), inappetence, lethargy, abdominal discomfort and/or diarrhoea a check up would be required.
