My dog has a sore on his leg and a growth by his eye. What is it?

Unfortunately it is hard to tell what that lump is just by the picture. I would recommend you take her in to see your vet for an exam and potentially a fine needle aspirate of this lump. A fine needle aspirate is a way to try to exfoliate cells from the lump and look at them under the microscope to try to tell what this lump is. Even if it is a benign lump, she may need to have it removed if she continues to lick it. She also may need topical treatment or potentially antibiotics and/or anti-inflammatories if the lump is infected or causing her pain. I often recommend taking lumps off of legs sooner, as they are easier and generally less expensive to remove and close the skin when they are small. Large lumps on limbs can be quite difficult to remove, as there isn't much additional skin in this area to close over the wound.

If he is scratching at it, I would recommend an elizabethan collar until you can get him to a veterinarian. I do recommend a veterinarian because the growth is most likely infected. At his age, it is important to consider health when deciding if you wanted to growth removed. The only way to stop this from ever happening again is removal. I would discuss if this is something that can be done with Eddie. The only way to see if the growth is concerning is also from removal and biopsy. Again, this should be discussed with your vet. Hello. It would be a good idea to have an exam done by your vet to take a look at that area. That appears to be a growth or tumor and not just a sore. There is nothing you can do yourself to make that get getter. There are many types of skin growths, some are benign and some are cancerous. Your veterinarian can guide you in deciding if surgery to remove that growth is recommended.

This could be a benign skin mass like a wart or a lipoma or could be something more serious like a mast cell tumor. My best recommendation is to take Mara to the veterinarian so a fine needle aspirate and cytology can be performed. The mass on the leg has the appearance of a histiocytoma which is a benign tumor that is common in young dogs. It will usually regress within a few weeks to a couple months. I would not be overly concerned unless it does not go away or if it starts to bother him. If they are raised wart-like things, then they are probably papilloma virus warts that again, should go away on their own. It is difficult for me to tell if they are raised from the photo. If they are not raised......I'm not quite sure what that it from. It would probably be best if you took him to the vet for an exam before you do any "home remedies" since we don't really know what we are treating. You don't want to make it worse. The only real recommendation I can give you at this stage is to get him an immune boosting supplement as both histiocytomas and papillomas can be a sign of a weak immune system. There is no way of knowing for sure without an examination though this represents a reason to seek veterinary care. This is usually determined with an examination and a fine needle aspirate (FNA) or a biopsy. Treatment depends on the findings up to that point. If Nova is two years or younger, this could be a histiocytoma - a benign tumor that is usually on the front half of the body. They usually go away on their own without treatment.
