If she is tired or unwell then yes she should be seen by your vet. Otherwise, a bland diet such as boiled skinless chicken and rice or an intestinal canned diet with additional probiotics such as fortiflora or canikur can help the gut to rebalance and repair. Ensure she is up to date with deworming treatments also as intestinal parasites can contribute to diarrhea and colitis

If the diarrhea doesn't resolve or she doesn't eat, starts vomiting, becomes lethargic or you see blood then I recommend a veterinarian as soon as possible. This sounds like diarrhea. In dogs, diarrhea can be caused by a GI illness, eating something rotten, or a change in diet to name a few things. I can give you a home remedy for Leah to see if that helps. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the diarrhea continues on the bland diet, she starts vomiting food, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away.

Yes, probably a bout of colitis. I would not be overly worried. Just do as you normally do by withholding food for a 6-8 hours. The only other thing I would suggest is a 30 day course of a probiotic. You can use any probiotic made for dogs but I recommend Fortiflora. One packet on food daily. It is very palatable so dogs usually eat with no problem. I would recommend feeding small bland meals frequently with an added probiotic such as fortiflora. If diarrhea is mild it is often preferred to allow it to be expelled naturally if drinking and alert. Imodium is generally used alongside other treatment or where no signs of infection are identified

It sounds like Emma may have a mild upset stomach for some reason. Since she's acting normal otherwise, you can try withholding food for the next 12-24 hours to give her stomach a chance to settle, then feed a bland, easily digestible diet of plain boiled chicken and rice for the next 2-3 days until her stool returns to normal. If this doesn't help, or if she develops any other symptoms such as vomiting, acting lethargic, or not wanting to eat, then I would recommend having her examined by a vet since these can be signs of a more serious problem.
