My dog is sneezing nonstop and licking lips. Should I call vet?

Excessive sneezing like this could be a sign of foreign material in the nasal cavity (sometimes a piece of fluff or plant material can get stuck), or potentially a nasal polyp, tumor or infection. If this extreme sneezing continues I'd recommend having your vet examine Pilsner - they might recommend sedation for a nasal flush and exam.

This sign could be compatible with an upper respiratory tract inflammation/infection or eventually to a persistent rhinitis (inflammatory, allergic, infective). A clinical examination at your local veterinarian is essential to confirm these clinical suspicions and treat appropriately if the signs persist more than 12 hours. Antibiotics may be needed. Hello. There are quite a few YouTube videos showing reverse sneezing so you can easily view these to see if Loki is doing the same. If he is, this may just be a normal think for him & usually requires no treatment. Benadryl has never been very effective in dogs, but we do have excellent prescription medications such as the antihistamine hydroxyzine to the newest drugs to combat allergies including Apoquel & Cytopoint. But, I think Loki may just have a mild upper respiratory virus that should run its course in a week or so. Keep vigilant on the ear, that can actually give him more problems then anything else. Sneezing as a sole symptom is not an emergency, and his vocalizing during sleep may have been related to a dream. However, the vomiting multiple times has me more worried, and warrants a vet visit - particularly since it's coming on the heels of his respiratory changes. Hope this helps!

It is possible something has irritated Sista's nose or nasal cavities, or she has something irritating in her mouth or throat. Illness, obstructions, respiratory issues, allergen irritation, etc can all be possible causes. If she is pawing at her face, can't stop sneezing, or is having trouble breathing, seeking veterinary care in person immediately is best.

I am so sorry that you dog keeps doing this. As long as she isn't injuring herself when she hits her head on the floor (bloody nose, mouth, etc), I would recommend to contact your veterinarian to see if there is an anti-histamine that you could give her to help control her sneezing. If she is sneezing excessively or hurting herself, I would recommend to have the veterinarian to examine her as she could have something more serious going on. I hope she starts to feel better really soon!

If this has been going on for several days without any improvement, I would recommend having a veterinarian examine Ivy so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. She may or may not need an antibiotic if this is an upper respiratory infection. If she has not had an antihistamine before, you can always try Benadryl or Zyrtec but I would discuss this with your vet first. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction.
