My Labrador is very sick, weak, not eating. Does he need a vet now?

It is very difficult to diagnose him over the internet. If he is weak, he may need IV fluids and medications to make him feel better. Once a vet performs an exam, they will be able to guide you to the next steps in diagnosing and treating his problems. Hello, sorry to hear about Princess. Labs unfortunately can suffer from varying kinds of illnesses which may cause any of these signs. These may include dental disease, joint and bone diseases such as a torn ACL or arthritis, liver or kidney disease, and unfortunately cancer. It sounds like Princess is very sick and I would worry that she may have something that requires immediate medical attention. Additionally, if she is painful then she may be suffering and thus I would want her to have some sort of pain medications on board to help her feel more comfortable. The best way to rule out any potential life threatening disease, or treat her for pain or other medical conditions would be to have her evaluated by a veterinarian. You veterinarian will be able to run tests on Princess to determine what the best treatment for her will be and hopefully get her feeling a lot better. In the mean time, ensure she is comfortable and has access to copious amounts of water. Notify your doctor if you see any concurrent vomiting, diarrhea, coughing or sneezing. If he has had such an abrupt change and is now not eating or getting up, I would recommend he be seen as soon as possible. Unfortunately that would mean an emergency vet visit but for an 11 1/2 year old Lab it could mean severe pain from arthritis, trauma, some internal organ disease, cancer, or some infection. There are just too many possibilities at this point. If it's nothing too serious you will have alleviated his issues today and have peace of mind. I cannot know for sure what is the reason for his illness, if I had to guess it's probably a viral infection, you need to get him to the vet ASAP, he probably needs antibiotic treatment and fluid therapy.

Poor pup! Labs are notorious for eating things they should not, and she could have a foreign body causing her symptoms. It could also be she has a GI illness, may have eaten something rotten, or could have pancreatitis. Since she is not eating or drinking as well as vomiting, I would take her into a vet now. Your dog needs to see a vet. He sounds very sick. The symptoms you describe are very vague and don't point to any one illness or disease process. He needs to be examined by a vet in person. Please get him to a vet for an exam as soon as possible.

Drooling can be a sign of pain or nausea. IF she is feeling bad then she may need to see your vet. they can check her mouth and teeth for any wounds or sores or abscesses or look for any pain anywhere else. If she is not eating or having diarrhea, then that is a sign it is from nausea and they can provide medicine for that. You can try boiled chicken and rice to see if she is interested in that food and see how she handles that.
