My dog is shaking, scooting, and anxious. Is it the new food?

Shaking can be a sign of anxiety, but it can also be a sign of pain. Back/neck and abdominal pain in particular can be difficult to localize and sometimes reluctance to move and shaking are the only signs. Shaking can also be a sign of a fever. If you think Peanut might be painful or if he continues to show no interest in his regular food I'd recommend seeing your vet for an exam. They can look for a source of pain and evaluate his temperature.

If it is just from changing his diet then this should stop very shortly. However, if this is due to something else such as pancreatitis, gastroenteritis, among other possibilities then this is unlikely to resolve and a veterinary evaluation would be indicated for further assessment and treatment. Seeing that Booboo is 12 years old, I would recommend having him examined by a veterinarian and have his blood tested to make sure that there are no major changes to his blood that would indicate why he is exhibiting these symptoms. He may be shivering and whimpering because of discomfort. The vomiting could be due to systemic illness or infection. The sooner he is seen by a veterinarian the better. This is something that if confirmed, it may be treated with steroids and anti-histamine medications. I recommend that you have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Loss of appetite can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. I recommend that you have Panda evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check for these possibilities and others depending on the findings on exam. There are a wide variety of health problems that can cause shaking/crying and decreased appetite. Pain or discomfort from a number of health problems could cause the shaking and crying. Decreased appetite may be due to pain or can be due to nausea from any number of health issues such as orthopedic conditions, organ dysfunction, infections, autoimmune diseases, toxins, or certain types of cancers. Due to the variety of possibilities in this case, I would highly recommend Fido be seen by his veterinarian right away for an evaluation. Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your concern. There are many causes of vomiting and the shaking is probably him getting ready to vomit. Many times the diet is responsible for any abnormal GI symptoms. I would recommend switching to a different food altogether and consider adding in a probiotic such as Purina Fortiflora. If this does not help, I would recommend having a veterinarian examine him so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I hope this helps!
