Why is my dog shaking, not eating, moving, or drinking, and has hives?

Poor guy. Since his symptoms are pretty vague and could mean just about anything. I would certainly have him examined by your vet soon. If his gums are pale, then this is an emergency and he should be seen by an ER vet right away. IT sounds like he could have ingested something that is affecting his whole body or he could have an internal organ system problem. I do hope that your pet Spot is going to be ok moving forward. Poor baby. It sounds like he may have injured something. It is common for them to injure their back or neck and act this way. I would have your vet look st him today. Your vet will be able to localize the pain and give him the appropriate pain meds to help him feel better. If it is his lower back, you vet may also prescribe him a stool softener so it is easier for him to have a bowel movement. Your vet will also be able to do X-rays if needed. I do not recommend to give any human pain meds as most of these are toxic to dogs. I hope this helps and he starts to feel better soon!

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Gage! I would worry that Gage has hurt his back or neck. This is how they tend to act. They also don’t jump up in furniture like normal and avoid the stairs. They cry when touched, picked up or move. I would take him in to your vet today before the holiday for an exam. I treat neck and back pain with anti-inflammatories, muscle relaxants and pain medications. I wish Gage a speedy recovery!

I am very sorry to hear about Best, but it sounds like he truly needs veterinary care as soon as possible. I would be concerned about an allergic reaction but also it is concerning that he has drooling and shivering with aggression. This makes us very concerned about the possibility of rabies or canine distemper. He should be seen right away by a vet to examine him and try to determine what is going on and if he can be treated.

Poor Brownie! The good news is that his nose being cold and wet is not a sign of illness in dogs. A dog's nose can go from cold and wet to warm and dry simply by lying in the sun or next to a heat source. It is concerning, however, that he is not eating or drinking, and is shaking and laying around. It is serious when a dog won't drink water, and I would have Brownie seen by a vet right away. This not eating and drinking could be caused by a systemic illness, infection, inflammation, or injury. He could be shaking because he has a fever. The vet can diagnose what is causing his symptoms, and can treat him for them. I would take him into a vet right away.

This sounds like she may have a severe injury or balance problem. I strongly recommend an urgent vet check to identify and treat the source of her pain and discomfort as these are not normal behaviors

If the kyphosis is new, I would be concerned the symptoms are related. since Nutmeg is not responding to treatment, I recommend to preform further diagnostics. Based upon your description, I would be concerned Nutmeg has abdominal pain, spinal pain or perhaps pressure on her internal organs. Top differentials include: pancreatitis hepatitis (many potential causes) foreign object in gastrointestinal tract intervertebral disc disease or injury internal abscess fluid in abdomen tumor/cancer in abdomen Some potential diagnostics including imaging (ultrasound would be preferred over x-rays), bloodwork and a blood test specifically for the pancreatic enzymes like a CPL.
