Why is my dog suddenly shaking, limping, and panting in episodes?

I can certainly see how this would be very alarming to witness. The symptoms you describe may be related to a disease process affecting an organ system (more often the neurologic (seizure event) or cardiac (heart event) systems). What i would recommend is a visit to your family veterinarian for a physical exam, to discuss the events, and to discuss additional testing (like bloodwork to rule out organ changes). It is also extremely helpful to get a video of an event so that your vet can watch it. Also, given the age of your pup, make sure there is nothing new in the environment that he could be snacking on that may be toxic to dogs (plants, etc.). It is possible Harley may have suffered a seizure or even a head injury. I strongly recommend you video his behavior at home and arrange a full health check with your vet to identify any underlying illness or injury which may have contributed to these signs

Shaking or muscle tremors, difficulty walking and seizures can be a sign of neurologic disease in the brain. There are many infectious and inflammatory diseases that can cause signs like these. Severe liver disease or low blood sugar could also cause neurologic signs. I would recommend seeing your veterinarian if you have not already had Bobby examined. They can check blood work and may recommend testing for some infectious diseases. Often referral to a neurologist for an MRI and sampling spinal fluid is necessary to get a diagnosis, but there may be some treatments your veterinarian could recommend before more testing.

Hello. Unfortunately it is very difficult to try & narrow down what might be ailing Rocket. Lethargy, shaking & even limping could indicate a fever or pain anywhere in his body. If you could obtain a rectal temperature, anything over 103F would be concerning & Rocket should be seen by a veterinarian quickly. If his temp is normal ( around 101.5 F ), then you might see how he does over the next 12-24 hours. If he not improving, please have him seen by your veterinarian. Oh my. Poor guy. His symptoms unfortunately aren’t specific for one disease process to speak ok. Lethargy, shivering and weakness can be caused by just about any disease process including: toxin ingestion, underlying heart disease, or even anaphylactic shock is a possibility. But one thing is sure, Snoopy is in need of medical care if this has been going on for more than 6 hrs or so. He will need some diagnostic testing (bloodwork analysis to start) to determine what the underlying problem is so that we know how best to help Snoopy get better. I would recommend having Scooter examined by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. These can be symptoms of many serious medical issues, anxiety, fear, pain, neurologic disease, infection, etc. I would recommend that you have him checked out by a vet to see what could be going on. After a thorough physical exam and discussion of his recent history, the vet may recommend diagnostics, such as blood work, x-rays, ultrasound, etc. to diagnose the cause.
