Why is my dog shaking, limping, and struggling with his back legs?

Shaking is usually a sign of pain, according to the symptoms I can't be sure where the pain is coming from, possibly from his hips but it could be from somewhere else. I strongly recommend that you take him to the vet ASAP in order to get it checked and treated.

Hi! Thanks for entrusting us with Bentley's care today! Lameness and/or possible leg pain and shaking can be a sign of a few things that range from a muscle sprain to even a fracture. I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian so that this can be further assessed which will likely include radiographs. Treatment will be dependent on findings though at the very least pain control medications can be prescribed. Good luck! Hoping for a speedy recovery!

If Scrapoy is having neurologic signs (leg weakness, knuckling, not moving the leg(s), walking drunk) I would worry that he is suffering from a slipped disk in his neck or back. The shaking is common when dogs are in pain and disk can be very painful. I would recommend taking Scrapoy to the Vet today for an exam. I hope this helps and I wish you the very best!

Shaking or quivering of a leg can be caused by so many things, including anxiety, pain, neurologic disease, muscular disease, bone disease, etc. I would recommend that Abbie be checked out by a vet. After thorough orthopedic and neurologic exams, the vet may get a better idea of what could be causing the issues. X-rays may be helpful for evaluated the bones and joints of the affected limb. Once your vet has a better idea of what could be the cause, then a medication trial can be used to see if it help with the shaking leg.

Hello, thank you for your question. These symptoms could be indicative of many different underlying problems. Shivering/shaking can be a sign of pain in dogs. Alternatively, it is possible that your dog is having a seizure like event. If he is otherwise acting normal and these events are infrequent you could continue to monitor him. Alternatively, if you are concerned you could have him evaluated by your veterinarian. They will examine him and look for any sources of pain. It might be helpful to try and video one of these events if it happens again, since this could help your veterinarian exactly what is going on. Hope this helps!

Based on what you are describing I would be very concerned that Scooter is having seizure-like episodes. I would recommend taking a video of the incident if possible and showing it to your veterinarian. I am sorry to hear about Lexi. Trembling in the legs can be a sign of pain or discomfort. I would recommend that Lexi see her vet for an examination. They can check her for things like arthritis or spinal pain. Spinal cord compression can also cause weakness/wobbliness/trembling while standing. They may recommend bloodwork to screen for things like hypothyroidism which can also manifest with neurological signs like tremors. There may be medication that can help Lexi dependingon the underlying cause of her trembling.
