Dog shaking, can't lift head, and can't stand up. Is it an emergency?

Hi. This sounds like it could be serious. I would worry about either some seizure activity, some severe nausea, dizziness, or even ears. Lots of possibilities. But this needs to be addressed quickly. I would call your veterinarian for an appointment today. If they aren't available then I would recommend the ER

I would bring him to the veterinarian right away. He needs a good neurologic exam, and some radiographs. Based on his symptoms he may have a head injury, and should recover in medical supervision. That must have been scary for you!

This is a medical emergency, and Timber has to see a vet now. It sounds like he has a neurological problem if he has head tremors and cannot stand or walk. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. If Scrapoy is having neurologic signs (leg weakness, knuckling, not moving the leg(s), walking drunk) I would worry that he is suffering from a slipped disk in his neck or back. The shaking is common when dogs are in pain and disk can be very painful. I would recommend taking Scrapoy to the Vet today for an exam. I hope this helps and I wish you the very best!

He may have a neurologic problem of some kind, may have injured himself somehow, or may have ingested something toxic. The ER veterinarian can do a completely neurologic exam and may recommend blood work, x-rays, or other testing if needed to help figure out what's wrong. If you're not sure where to go, try calling your regular vet's office - their voicemail message should have contact information for your nearest ER or an on-call doctor for emergencies.

Difficulty walk or standing, also known as ataxia, is definitely a cause for concern. This may be caused by neurological issues or a toxin. Xhesi should be seen by a vet immediately to determine the cause and be stabilized if necessary.
