From the pictures you have sent the "bump" appears to be a skin growth. There are several types off masses that can grow in the skin of dogs such as cysts, lipomas and some types of cancers. Some are benign and some are malignant, so careful observation is important, as well as having a vet examine it if you are concerned.

Since you only just noticed the lump, and Doom is neutered, I would continue to monitor it for growth, ulceration, changes in texture or color. Measure the mass with a ruler so you can compare its growth in a couple weeks time. Rapidly growing masses are more concerning. If the mass has grown or changed in that time I would advise taking Doom to have the mass examined and analyzed.

This is often differentiated by a test called a fine needle aspirate (FNA) which is a pain free, inexpensive and easy procedure which in most cases will help reach a diagnosis. Sometimes a biopsy is needed for a definitive diagnosis. I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. While this could be something benign, there is a possibility of it being malignant which is why it needs to be taken care of. I am really hoping for something benign. Good luck and have a good day!

Thank you for providing pictures of Gucci's bump. From the pictures, it looks like it could be a cyst, a benign tumor, or a malignant tumor. Any suspicious lumps should be examined by the vet. The vet can perform a test called a fine needle aspirate on it. To do this, the vet sticks a small needle into the lump to get a sample of it's cells, and examines the cells on a slide under a microscope. It's usually painless to the animal, and relatively quick to perform. Once the cause of the lump is diagnosed, the vet can discuss treatment options with you. Given that the lump is getting bigger, I would have him seen by a vet on Monday. Good luck, I hope this helps!

My neutered dog has a soft, growing scrotal mass. Is it a fatty tumor?

This is probably just some scar tissue or a lipoma (a benign fatty tumor) but since it has recently popped up and seems to be growing I would recommend taking Tucker to the vet to have it checked. Your vet can do a fine needle aspirate and cytology. This is where, using a small needle, a sample of the cells are collected and then can be looked at under a microscope. This really looks like it is most likely a harmless pigmented area. At this age pets get different colored spots on their skin because he is going through his maturation process. If it isn’t raised, swollen or has hair loss, then it is likely nothing to worry about and is just pigmentation. I would still mention it to your vet so they can look at it to verify. I would recommend having this examined by a vet as soon as you are able to - this sounds like it could be a skin tumor of some kind, but it could also be a localized bacterial infection or some other type of skin condition. He may need antibiotics to treat the problem, or even surgery to remove affected area if a tumor is suspected based on the exam.
