Why does my new dog have red spots on her skin and ear discharge?

From the pictures and your description it looks as though Poppy may have a skin infection. This can occur due to allergies as well as in areas where skin folds or normal anatomy allow dirt and moisture to become trapped such as around the vulva. For minor irritation, the area can be cleaned with a mild antiseptic or dog shampoo. If you are noticing these lesions elsewhere or if Poppy is licking or chewing at the area, she should be seen by your veterinarian.

The rash doesn't look too bad but I would recommend having your veterinarian take a look at it and potentially prescribe a shampoo to help with situations like this. If it does appear worse then what the picture shows, she may need another course of oral medication. The ear growth may be a cyst or a small pimple. Those spots on Pepper's ears could be due to superficial bacterial infections, superficial irritation or mites. Make sure Pepper does not scratch at them as this could cause them to worsen. Sometimes these little spots will clear on their own. I recommend to point them out to his vet when he is in for his next vaccine visit. This redness indicates inflammation and is usually itchy. I would get him checked for external parasites, such as lice or mites (Cheyletiella comes to mind as a possibility). If those aren't the problem, it could be a bacterial skin infection secondary to allergies. Your vet can do some simple testing to get this sorted out.
