My dog has a red pimple in her mouth. Could it be from a plant?

It could be an infection, cyst, allergic reaction, or mass. Have your vet take a look at the bump tomdetermine the cause. Your vet can do a fine needle aspirate to diagnose and then determine the best way to treat it. He may need an antibiotic, antihistamine, corticosteroid to treat or it may need to be removed.

It looks like an epulis, which is a benign or malignant growth of the gum tissue. Please, take Kitti Singh to your local vets to confirm the diagnosis and to discuss treatment options. Growth like this should be surgically removed, as it probably will have tendency to get bigger in the future, bleed on and off and in general bother your dog.

Hi there! Yes, puppies can get pimples, and that very well may be what this is. It looks like it's right in the location where his canine tooth rubs on his lip, and if this tooth is new, some irritation may be happening here. It could also be an insect bite, skin parasite, or a localized infection. If it doesn't clear up, gets worse, or appears to be causing Brody any discomfort, I suggest having a vet take a look at it. In the meantime, you can try keeping it clean with a dilute soap and water solution, but Brody may not like it! I wouldn't bother applying any topical ointments to it as he'll likely just lick it right off. Good luck, and I hope Brody's little lip irritation goes away soon!

Without seeing a picture of what you are describing it is difficult to say for sure what this could be. I suspect, due to Blue's age, that this could be a viral papilloma, histiocytoma or pimple-like growth. In all 3 cases, it should resolve on its own. It could be something other than these 3 possibilities. If the spot does not resolve or it worsens, I would recommend having a veterinarian examine Blue to that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. Poor guy! Your can try this: It won’t hurt him if he licks it off. However, if it’s not improving in 5 days or so, I would recommend that you schedule a recheck with your vet. I’m worried he may need antibiotics, as he may have a deep skin infection. If it continues to be a problem , a skin biopsy may be recommended. Thanks for asking PetCoach!

From the picture it actually looks more like a deep skin infection to me. This could be bacterial or fungal, or even a hypersensitivity reaction (less likely). I would recommend that she be examined by your veterinarian soon. They may look at a sample under the microscope to help determine what therapies might be most helpful. It may just be a little boil that formed due to a mild infection or even trauma from his tooth. If it isn't bothering him then I would just keep an eye on it for the next 2-7 days to see if it resolves on its own. Most of the time these do. If it doesn't then have your vet take a look to see if treatment is needed.
