My dog has raspberry jam stool. Should I rush to the ER vet?

This problem is likely to be related to a colitis (inflammation of the last part of the intestine). It is quite common and usually dietary related. It's pretty serious that Foxy's diarrhea that looks like strawberry jam (that tells me there is blood in it), and that she won't eat. Because of this, a home remedy is not recommended. She should see a vet immediately as this could be caused by something serious such as hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. Poor Butter! Since this has been going on for 2-3 days now and she is also vomiting and not wanting to eat much, I would recommend taking her to the ER today to be seen, rather than waiting until next week. The ER doctor can do some diagnostic testing to help figure out what's going on (possibly blood work, x-rays, and/or a fecal exam for parasites) and get her started on appropriate treatment depending on what is found. At the very least, it sounds like she needs to be started on some supportive care and symptomatic treatment (for nausea, diarrhea, etc.) since dogs can become dangerously sick if they have symptoms like this for multiple days that are not resolving on their own.

Dusty needs to go to an emergency clinic right away tonight. This could be hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, heavy intestinal parasite burden, or some of his bowel dying for some reason. Either way, this is a very serious issue and could be life threatening if not treated. When there is blood in the stool I do become a little more concerned. I would recommend a bland diet of boiled chicken and rice, however I would still recommend an examination with a veterinarian tomorrow. That being said if he had a very bloody stool tonight, one that looks like raspberry jam, then he should be seen immediately. If he is developing a problem called HGE they can get very sick very quickly. If he starts vomiting that also increases my concern. I hope he improves quick.
