Poor Zeus! The presence of pus suggests that this skin lesion is infected, and he should see a vet for it. An infected wound requires antibiotics to treat it, which the vet can prescribe. It could be that Benjamin has a cyst in that area, which is why the vet says it's nothing to worry about. Cysts form when a sebaceous gland in the skin is blocked and there is a build up of oil. They are benign, but if it's getting bigger, then it needs to be drained sterilely. You can take Benjamin back into your vet to have it seen again since it's getting bigger, or you can take him into another vet for a second opinion.

Depending on how it feels that could be something benign such as a fluid filled cyst or an abscess (pocket of infection and pus), or it could be something more aggressive such as cancer. The only way to tell is by taking a sample of it and looking at the cells under the microscope. If it's a cyst or an abscess, your veterinarian will be able to tell most likely without needing to look at the cells. I would recommend having the lump evaluated by your veterinarian. It could be an infection, cyst, or possibly a hystiocytoma. The best thing would be to have a vet take a look at the lesion. Your vet can do a needle aspirate to help diagnose and then determine the best way to treat. He may need an antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, or it may need to be removed. Hope he feels better soon!

If there are cysts or other signs of infection on Shizu's skin it would be best to bring him into your vet. They can examine the individual pustules and help determine what is causing them. Your vet may also be able to clean and treat any wounds and provide medications such as antibiotics to help clear up the infection. Until you can be seen, keeping the puppy from licking at them and keeping any affected areas clean and dry may help.
