Rufus probably ate something that was colored purple. A lot of kids food/cereals or cool aid can turn poo different colors because of the dye they use in the food. Try to investigate to see if he got into the trash or could have eaten some purple colored food. If Rufus starts to act like he doesn't feel well, take him into the vet immediately because he could have gotten into something toxic. Hope this has helped. Thanks for using pet coach.

It looks like he may have eaten something that had a strong coloring in it. If his dog food has artificial coloring or a chew toy, this may be where it came from. If this continues or he hasn't had access to anything to eat that was a similar color, call your vet and ask their advice.

Any weird color like that is almost always something they ate that is causing it.

Any chance Dennis got into something like crayons? Plants outside?

If you can't think of anything I would not worry too much about it as long as he is acting fine. If it continues to happen however, I would take him to your vet for an exam.

    Hope this helps. Best wishes.

I wouldn’t worry about this poop - a wide variety of colors are normal and it looks soft but still formed. If there has been blood or mucus, or if Lucky has had other symptoms like a decreased appetite or vomiting you may want to see your vet for an exam.
