My dog tied with a young male. Is she pregnant after a pelvis injury?

Without seeing the xrays it is impossible to say for sure. Any fracture of the pelvis can result in a narrowing of the birth canal and difficulty during delivery but a fracture of the thigh bone alone should not generally have any adverse effect. Unless there is a very large difference in size between your male dog and your female dog with the female being very small, there should be no problem if she gets pregnant. However, if you do not want puppies nor want to breed her later on I suggest you discuss spaying with your vet. There are so many puppies out there needing a new home, there is not point in adding to that. Being pregnant now will basically cut short her puppy time as well.

Generally, I recommend waiting until a dog is close to two years old for intentional breeding since both the dog's body and behavior are more mature at that point. The potential risks involve more difficulty during delivery (possibly requiring a c-section) and more difficulty caring for the pups once born. Options for Nancy at this point include having her spayed now to terminate a possible pregnancy and prevent future pregnancies, waiting until about 42-45 days after the dogs tied to take her to the vet for x-rays (the pups' skeletons would be visible on x-ray at this point), or simply taking a "wait and see" approach. Hello. It is tough to tell without an x-ray or ultrasound exam. It is very possible that the male still had viable sperm in his reproductive tract ( sperm can remain viable for 3-4 weeks in the accessory sex glands of a recently neutered male ). Not seeing a picture of the condition and not being able to give your dog a thorough exam, it is not possible to answer your question. However I suggest you take her to your vet on Tuesday, who can examine her and give you an idea whether she will be able to have the pups naturally and what is wrong with her vulva. If she is pregnant the uterus cannot be prolapsed, but she could have a prolapsed vagina, which is caused by the connective tissue that holds the vagina inside being very weak. So it would be best to have her checked by your vet.

There is always a possibility if the two were tied and both are not fixed. If you suspect your dog may be pregnant, bringing her into the vet to confirm the pregnancy is best. Having your dog spayed is also a good idea if you don't wish to have puppies.

Please consult your vet regarding your options immediately. If her eggs do become fertilized, this could be a very dangerous pregnancy for Coco, as she is so small and the male dog is so big. The puppies would likely be so big that she may need a c-section to give birth, and the pregnancy could be life-threatening.
