My Shih Tzu had kidney stone surgery. Is pregnancy safe for her?

This can be a sign of a UTI. You need to have Little Foot checked out by a vet for it. You have to wait 45 days after mating to get x-rays to tell if she is pregnant or not. If she is pregnant, after she weans the litter, you should have her spayed. Dogs should never be bred after 5-6 years of age, that is too old. If she isn't pregnant, have her spayed.

Are you sure her uterus was removed or simply put back into place? If it was put back into place, it could she is pregnant and you are feeling puppies moving. I would take her back into a vet immediately. Best of luck.

If she’s pregnant she may need a C-section if the pups are too large to come out naturally. I recommend a veterinary exam and ultrasound to see if she’s pregnant and perhaps an X-ray when she’s close to delivering to see the size and number of pups. There is an increased risk of uterine rupture in patients that have had a cesarean before. The veterinarian that performed the cesarean may be able to give you a better idea Jade's relative risk for this based on the state of her uterus at the time of surgery. Dogs that have needed cesareans before also at a higher risk for complications during labor in the future. I would discuss your concerns as well as the risk of complications with your veterinarian before breeding Jade again.
