My dog poops every other day. What foods or veggies can help?

It's hard to know if this is constipation or anxiety. I do recommend to transition her diet. Most vets do not recommend grain free diets unless a pets has a known grain allergy due to the potential link with heart disease. Some pets will also need a diet higher in fiber to keep them regular. The diet I recommend is Royal Canin. Most pets on this diet have good stool quality. It’s possible Bruno’s food does not contain enough fiber or moisture to meet the needs of his body. I recommend a diet called Royal Canin. It is a low residue, highly digestible food and most pets who eat this diet have great stool quality. It comes in canned and dried and even has a breed-specific Chihuahua diet. I recommend to switch him to this food over 5 to 7 days and see how his body responds best of luck and please feel free to post any additional questions.

If it has been 1 and 1/2 days since Luna's last bowel movement but is still eating and drinking normally, she may be a little constipated. You can try adding a tablespoon or two of plain canned pumpkin to her food twice daily for an extra fiber boost to help move things along. If that doesn't help, I would recommend Luna sees her veterinarian to rule out other causes of constipation such as a parasitic infection or other cause. I don't think you need to worry. It can be normal for a dog to poop every 1-2 days, not necessarily daily. If his stools are formed, that is normal. If they are occasionally a little soft, that can be normal. If they are soft serve texture or softer than that over 50% of the time, I would recommend that you talk to your vet about it. Overall it sounds like Nori is ok! The carrots and zucchini are a fine addition to his balanced dog food, and its ok that he doesn't like pumpkin. I hope that information helps you! For example, it may be that she is eating a diet that is high in protein and low in fiber for instance. This could be easily fixed by feeding her a diet that is higher in fiber. Based on what she eats at this time, defecating just once daily may be just fine. Good luck and have a great day!
