My puppy hasn't pooped in 1.5 days. Is it constipated? What to do?

I am sorry to hear about Lucky! If he is otherwise acting normally (no vomiting, normal appetite, energy normal, no pain) you can try adding a teaspoon of canned pumpkin to his food twice a day, or giving him some cat hairball remedy (such as laxatone). If this doesn't resolve the isssue within 24 hours or he develops any of the symptoms I mentioned before, he will need to see his veterinarian. It's not normal that Tinkerbell hasn't pooped in two days, and she could be constipated. Constipation can be caused by anal sac impaction, intestinal parasites, a foreign body, too little fiber in the diet, lack of exercise, or even tumors in the GI tract. I recommend giving her a tablespoon of canned pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling) mixed in with her food to see if that helps. If she is still constipated in 24-48 hours, she will need to see a vet as she will likely need a laxative or an enema. Your vet can diagnose the cause of the constipation as well.

You could start giving her 2 tablespoons of canned pumpkin with her meals which may help with cases of mild constipation. As long as she is eating, playful and not straining give her more time. If she can urinate in her own she can poop on her own. You can also call the person you got her from to double check what she did with them. Since you are seeing your vet tomorrow she should be fine. Have a good day!

Hello. You can feed Nicky a tablespoon of canned pumpkin ( not pie filling ) with each meal. Try & get her to take in more fluids too, by offering broths or soup stock in addition to fresh water. If Nicky refuses to eat, is straining constantly to have a bowel movement or vomiting, please have her seen as soon as possible. Most puppies will poop once or twice a day. Not pooping for 48 hours is concerning. Ensure that Bambi is on a healthy diet (canned and kibble puppy food) and do NOT feed bones(can cause constipation and many other health issues) or raw meat. If Bambi is still eating/drinking and running around and playing, just get her on a healthy diet and give her another 24 hours to poop. Long walks can help. If she hasn't pooped in another 24 hours I recommend a visit to the vet. Best of luck with Bambi!

If Mia still has not had a BM by tomorrow, make sure to mention it to the vet. If she does, it is a good idea to collect in in a plastic bag so that they can use it to check for intestinal parasites, which are common in puppies. I usually recommend that you continue to feed the food she was on from the breeder to avoid digestive upset. Make sure she has access to clean, fresh water, which will help keep stools moist and easy to pass.
