How to stop my dog from pooping in her crate after being trained?

If the crate training isn't working, you may need to switch to using a room such as a gated off kitchen or laundry room to see if it stops the problem. If that's the case, Belle may have some aversion to the crate itself, causing her to stress and defecate and then lay in it. Taking her out every 1-2 hours, if possible may also help if she still can't hold it long enough. As for eating it, products such as For-bid can be added to the food to make her stools less palatable. Speaking with a local trainer or veterinary behaviorist if she checked out healthy and is still having issues may also help.

Harley is very little still so may be a bit confused as to what she needs to be doing. Puppies are also VERY easily distracted as everything is new to them! It may be that you are not giving her enough time outside to give her the chance to go. You may need to be outside a good 15-20 minutes with her (even if she urinates) until she gets the urge to go and successfully goes potty outside. Running her around with a toy or on a leash can help exercise and get things moving. If she doesn't go, then bringing her inside, waiting 30-60 minutes, and then going right back out and trying again will give her plenty of opportunity to go potty outside. If she does go, offer lots of praise and treats to help her learn that both urine and stool should be done outside!

There is no one reason on why dogs will all of a sudden start pooping in the house. I would recommend going back to crate training Cali. I would keep Cali in the crate when you cannot keep 100% watch on her. When she comes out of the crate I would then walk her. If she goes then I would play with her and once you have to turn your back she goes back in the crate. If she does not go to the bathroom when you take her out of the crate I would put her back in for 20 minutes and try again. If you catch Cali going to the bathroom tell her no and take her and put her where you want her to go and praise her for going. If you just see the accident then clean it up and do not say anything to Cali. A crate should be big enough for her to stand up, sit down and turn around. The crate is a very safe option and dogs end up loving their crates, it's their safe house. I would try this route. I would also recommend getting a stool sample performed at your veterinarian's office. This will rule out intestinal parasites. I recommend first to have Kiki examined by the veterinarian to have her stool checked for bacterial over growth or parasites. If she is experiencing inflammation in her gut, this could speed up the GI transit time meaning she will need to go to the bathroom. If no medical cause can be found, I recommend to feed the brand Royal Canin because it tends to be a low residue diet (as long as it is not the 'diet' formula) and pets who eat this diet tend to produce less stool. I would also switch her to twice a daily feeding (6pm latest) and make sure she has an evening bowel movement before bed. This will help to not make her have a BM in the middle of the night. It sounds like Eloise has developed some separation anxiety. I would recommend first getting a crate to keep her in while you are gone. This will help prevent her from destroying the house and keep her safe so she doesn't get into anything that could harm her. Crate training can take a few weeks but once she is used to the crate she will begin to feel safe there. I would also recommend taking her on a fast paced walk before you have to crate her to help drain some of her nervous energy. You can also try giving her a chew toy like a kong while in the crate to keep her distracted. If these tactics do not work I would recommend talking to your vet about starting her on an anti anxiety medication. Good luck.

I commonly see puppies learning quickly and not having accidents get to this age and just forget everything they have learned. As long as there is no medical problem, I would go back to the basics- stay on a schedule, lots of trips outside to prevent an accident, lots of praise when he goes outside. It seems she might need a small kennel. There should only be enough room for her to stand up and turn a complete circle. Any other room then they tend to soil in one area and lay in another so they do not get dirty. Puppies tend to get distracted easily and may find playing and exploring outside more important than going to the bathroom. I would start taking her out on leash and staying close by you reward her with treats as she goes in the correct place.
