Why is my boxer pooping blood, and today it was pure blood?

Reasons for blood in the stool include colitis, intestinal parasites and dietary indiscretion and some possible reasons of blood in the urine include urinary tract infections, urinary stones and even tumors. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check for these possibilities and treat accordingly. The most common cause of this is gastrointestinal infection but it also may be due to scavenging, intoxication, bleeding ulcer, low platelet count and more. Please, take Jersey to your local vets for a check. He definitely will need a few days of antibiotics but prior to this, your vet will possibly recommend a blood test or ultrasound scan to make sure there is nothing more serious going on.

Blood in the poop can be caused by intestinal worms, a stomach illness, sudden change in diet, eating something rotten, a foreign body, or a severe illness like parvo. Because poop in the poop can have some very serious causes and it's been going on for a few days, it's time to see the vet. The vet can diagnose what is causing it and can treat her. It sounds as Millie is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an antibiotic course and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

There can be several conditions that cause pure blood in the stool (referred to as hematochezia), and these include hemorrhage gastroenteritis (HGE), a bleeding ulcer, cancer, parvovirus, a clotting disorder (from rat poison ingestion or genetic), among others. Regardless of the cause, this is a very concerning sign because it can rapidly lead to blood loss and dehydration. Chaquita needs to be taken to an ER vet immediately for an exam, lab testing (CBC, chemistry, coagulation panel), and supportive care (IV fluids, etc.).

Blood in the stool like this could be due to a mild gastritis or colitis (inflammation of the gut from eating something that upset it), or could be the beginning of a more severe gut issue. If Harley is still eating/drinking, and playing normally, the just monitor her stools for signs of more blood. If the blood continues, or if the feces starts looking like jam, then have her into a clinic right away. If Harley is quiet, lethargic, weak, not wanting to eat, or seems painful in her stomach, then have her seen by a vet right away. You can also try feeding her a bland diet of boiled/boneless/skinless chicken breast and boiled rice in small frequent meals for the next couple days, provided she is still bright and happy. This diet will clear up most mild gastritis cases without any need for fluids or medications. Best of luck with Harley!
