My new dog has loose stools and blood in her poop. What's wrong?

Aw poor Jacky Gill! I'm very concerned about the blood in the vomit as this can indicate serve Gastrointestinal inflammation or ulcer formation. Jacky should see a veterinarian right away as he likely needs prescription medication to stop the vomiting and diarrhea. He may need fluids to help rehydrate him. It may also be a good idea to have X-rays done to ensure there is no intestinal blockage. Once he has received medical care a bland diet of boiled chicken and sweet potato or rice may also help him recover. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. I'm sorry to hear Cooper is having issues. Bloody stool like you are describing can have a variety of causes, including dietary indiscretion, gastroenteritis, a virus, or an overgrowth of clostridium bacteria in the colon, among others. I would recommend he be evaluated by his regular veterinarian to determine the underlying cause for his diarrhea, have any necessary testing done, and get started on any treatment (antidiarrheal, probiotic) that may be needed to help resolve it. It is very common to see small specks or streaks of blood in diarrhea - but it is more concerning in cases like this where the dog appears to be passing more blood than stool. This can be a sign of HGE or Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis, which can be a dangerous condition and warrants an immediate trip to the vet. Your vet will probably want to look at a fecal sample to check for intestinal parasites, and will likely recommend bloodwork (particularly a CBC) to look for evidence of anemia or the changes characteristic of HGE. Depending on Honey's overall attitude, exam findings, and labwork findings, they may be able to manage her as an outpatient with medication to control the diarrhea (and likely fluids to help with dehydration), or they may recommend she be hospitalized for IV fluids and injectable medications. Regardless, I definitely recommend having her seen sooner than later. Hopefully this is just a worse-than-usual diarrhea, but it's worth playing it safe if it might be HGE. Kali may have a viral infection, intestinal parasites, or even a bacterial infection. These conditions can be diagnosed and treated by a veterinarian. I recommend bringing a stool sample from Kali in a disposable container to your appointment to make the diagnostic process quicker - your vet will be able to check this stool sample for intestinal parasites. It's not good that Jack is pooping blood! This can be caused by trauma to the GI tract, a foreign body, GI ulcers, eating something toxic, intestinal parasites, or hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. There are some very serious causes behind a dog pooping blood, and when this happens, a immediately trip to the vet is recommended. I would take Jack into an ER vet or find a vet on call to see him ASAP so he can have the cause of his bloody feces diagnosed and treated.

The most common cause of this is gastrointestinal infection but it also may be due to scavenging, intoxication, bleeding ulcer, low platelet count and more. Please, take Jersey to your local vets for a check. He definitely will need a few days of antibiotics but prior to this, your vet will possibly recommend a blood test or ultrasound scan to make sure there is nothing more serious going on.
