My dog had a small round reddish pink worm in his stool. Do you know what kind it is?

It looks like this could be a piece of a roundworm or tapeworm segment. I would recommend taking a stool sample in to be seen by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate treatment recommendations can be made. A dewormer is likely needed.

It could be a species of roundworm. Without a fecal exam, it is difficult to determine definitively. The good news is that it isn't an emergency. You can submit it and/or a stool sample to your veterinarian on Monday. Once the specific parasite is confirmed, the appropriate dewormer can be administered or dispensed. You may need to repeat it in two weeks.
A monthly heartworm preventive, such as HeartGard or Sentinel, can protect against reinfection.
