My dog has pink foamy vomit and kidney issues. Is it a heart problem?

It could be, the pink tinge might be blood, indicating that he has swallowed something that injured his throat or stomach or he has vomited so much his esophagus is irritated enough to bleed. Either way, I strongly recommend getting him in to see a vet right away, especially if the vomiting has been going on for some time.

I am concerned about a few possibilities: toxin - I am not familiar with the plants and animals native to South Africa but we have a few in the states that can do this parasites- a worm burden in the stomach or small intestine can cause this bleeding disorder - certain tick borne illnesses can cause bleeding ingestion of an acid or caustic agent, heat stroke, bleeding ulcer, electric shock, and cancer of the stomach or intestines can all ado this. I would recommend seeing the vet as soon as possible. He or she may recommend bloodwork and/or medications to stop the vomiting and ease nausea. Best wishes to you and Dapple.

He might have eaten something spoiled that is causing this. withhold food for 12 hours then offer Echo boiled boneless chicken and rice every 6 hours in small portions. if he is eating and not vomiting, continue with this diet for 2 days. After 2 days, you can put him back gradually on his normal food. If he continues vomiting or is not eating, take him to the vet to get treatment.

Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I can definitely see that Koda's vomit is reddish in color and has some red flecks in it. It is possible that the vomit has blood in it, though I would not expect it to have flecks in it. It is possible that Koda ate something that was red/pink in color that made his vomit this color. However, even the possibility of blood in vomit is cause for concern as this can be caused by stomach ulcers, foreign bodies, or certain toxins. I recommend keeping a very close eye on Koda, and having her examined immediately if this happens again or your believe you are seeing something that looks like frank blood or dark coffee grounds in her vomit. She should also be seen immediately if you think there is a chance that she may have eaten something she shouldn't have or has gotten into human medications. Until she can be seen by a vet tomorrow, I recommend not giving her any food and only offering small amounts of water. There are emergency clinics in most cities that are open 24 hours. Vomiting can be observed with conditions such as gastroenteritis, pancreatitis, dietary indiscretion, gastrointestinal foreign body ingestion and obstruction, among other possibilities. For this reason, I highly recommend that you have Diesel evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment as soon as possible as I am afraid he is likely becoming dehydrated. They would be able to check for these possibilities and also check his hydration status and give him medications to make him feel better. Good luck!

If you are concerned that she is not doing well even after a visit to your veterinarian, I highly recommend that you have her reevaluated for further assessment. I’m sorry to hear of this disturbing finding with Osuka this morning! If he is acting normally otherwise and has not had this type of issue previously then I would recommend monitoring him for now. If this behavior continues, if he has bleeding from other areas, if he goes off his food or is generally not acting right then I would recommend having him evaluated by your regular veterinarian.
