Why are my dog's pink chin bumps turning black and not going away?

Based on your picture these look like adenomas which are a benign type of skin mass. They can secrete material that is dark, but they can also occasionally become infected. Since Evie has had some behavior changes as well it would be a good idea to have your veterinarian examine the masses and confirm the diagnosis. Adenomas are benign and generally don't need to be removed unless they are infected or bothering the dog.

Those appear to be sebaceous adenomas. These are common, wary like growths, that occur as dogs age. They are typically not cancerous but can cause a problem if they get scratched or cut. If there are several it may be best to consult with your vet about removal

This is commonly seen when they get a skin infection. The chin is a common place for this to happen, because there can be excessive moisture that gets trapped here. I recommend cleaning the chin with a medicated wipe or shampoo (can get this at the pet store) once a day until the bump(s) are gone. If it seems to get worse, then you'll want to take Oakley into the vet for an exam, because it may be another skin condition, or need stronger medication. It may take a few weeks before it's completely cleared. If two weeks go by and it's not getting any better, then it's best to have a veterinarian exam it. It is hard to say for sure by just these pictures but they look like skin tags. If they are hard, growing, bleeding or bothering him, I would have him seen by your vet. Otherwise, you could just watch them for any change. I hope this helps!

This is often differentiated by a test called a fine needle aspirate (FNA) which is a pain free, inexpensive and easy procedure which in most cases will help reach a diagnosis. Thank you for submitting your question regarding Lilly. She may have an infection under the skin on her chin. If the bumps do not resolve, she will need to see her veterinarian.
