Why is there a pink thing sticking out of my male dog's penis?

Based on your description and the picture you have provided I would recommend having a veterinarian examined Bubba so that the most appropriate Diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. When the penis is stuck outside the prepuce comma such as what is going on in the photo of Bubba, it is a condition known as paraphimosis. If the penis becomes discolored and white, this usually indicates that the circulation to the penis has been compromised. When the penis gets stuck outside the prepuce, the prepuce can act as a tourniquet and cut off circulation to the penis itself. The sooner this is look at, the better I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. The tip of the prepuce can look like that because you can see the inside tissue of the prepuce. I would assume that you can see if better now since the hair has been removed. Unless he is uncomfortable and licking his penis I wouldn't take him in. I hope this helps!

I recommend that you have Tyson evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Further diagnostics would include abdominal imaging and lab work. It could be he is suffering from paraphimosis, which is an inability to retract the penis back into the sheath. This can quickly turn into an emergency situation, as constricting of the blood flow will lead to a larger engorgement of the penis, necrosis (dead tissue), and potential damage to the urethra. If his penis hasn't been out too long (less than an hour), you can try to put it back yourself. First, thoroughly clean the penis, making sure there is no foreign material (such as fur) that is wrapped around the penis. Take a bag of frozen veggies wrapped in a towel, and apply it to the penis for five minutes at a time to try to reduce the swelling. Packaged peas work very well because they are mobile around the penis. Then apply a lubricant such as KY Jelly onto the penis, and very gently try to move the penis back into the sheath. Very gently try to push the penis back into the sheath, or try to gently pull the sheath over the penis. If this does not work, or if the penis has been outside the sheath for more than 30 minutes to an hour, you will need to take Lukas into your vet. Best of luck.

It may be worth getting checked out by a vet to be safe. I'd take him into a vet today. Best of luck.

Thanks for the question again and the pictures. From what I can see on the images the penis looks normal, possibly slightly swollen but overall normal. It does not look like there is excessive discharge or signs of infections. If the penis is able to retract normally inside the prepuce, I would not be worried about it.
