Pet's info: Dog | Doberman Pinscher | Male | neutered | 2 years and 5 months old | 108 lbs
My 2 yr old Doberman has been bleeding from his penis for 4 days. Day 1 had a lot of bleeding, Day 2 mild Day 3 a lot Day 4 small amounts. He has been to see the vet on day 1,2&3. Ruled out urinary problems and diagnosed with over exerting himself trying to breed with our female (even though he is fixed), as the blood is coming from his prepuce and the soft tissue is swollen there. We were told to wait it out & that it would heal in a few days. Does this sound right? We’re worried for him.

Being not neutered it may have to do with hormones if he got too excited, or it may be a urinary tract infection. It does need to be seen and looked at it but as long as he is acting normally and urinating well, you can wait for an appointment
