Why is my dog peeing in sleep, making noises, and not eating?

Keep in mind that this may be unrelated to the crystals and can even be something like urinary incontinence. I would continue monitoring for signs of painful urination or bloody urine. I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Further diagnostics would include abdominal imaging and lab work. Dream bahaviour patterns can be very varied and a wide range of sounds and movements can be considered as normal (as can open or blinking eyes). I recommend you video the episodes and ask your vet or vet nurse to review them if you are concerned

You don't indicate whether Opal is spayed or not, but I would add that urination while sleeping is often a sign of a condition called hormonal incontinence (also "spay incontinence") which is caused by the lack of estrogen that happens once we spay dogs. I would definitely get her checked out as she may have a UTI as Dr. Melanie indicated, or an incontinence issue.

This can't be pleasant for you or for Ted! Urination during sleep can have several causes, including a urinary tract infection, seizures, weakness to the urethral sphincter (hormone related or not), or even "bed wetting" that Ted could grow out of. Regardless, the first step should include taking Ted to his vet for an exam, prostate exam (unlikely to be an issue since he has been neutered) and urinalysis to check for infection. If there is not a readily apparent diagnosis, your vet will discuss monitoring for seizure activity or a trial with medications to improve the urethral sphincter's function. I hope this helps!

It sounds like he may have a urinary tract infection. This isn’t as common in male dogs but it can happen. He may be eating his poop out of stress from a possible infection m. I would suggest taking him in to your vet first chance you get to have his urine tested and get him treated. I hope he gets better soon and stops having accidents in his kennel. Hi there. Urinating while sleeping is not normal, and is usually a sign of a medical condition. Clear urine without much odor can also be caused by a number of different conditions including diabetes, Cushing’s disease, or chronic kidney disease. I would recommend taking Chico to the vet for an exam when you are able to. He/she can do blood and urine testing to help diagnose the problem and get him started on appropriate treatment depending on what is found.

A hacking cough can be a sign of allergies or a collapsing trachea, and it would be a good idea to mention it to your vet during your next visit. As long as it continues to happen infrequently and Lucky is not having difficulty breathing I probably wouldn’t make an appointment now. If this urination habit is new however I’d worry that it might be a sign of a urinary issue. If it seems like he is continuing to urinate small amounts frequently or if you see him attempting to urinate without passing anything you should make an appointment to see your vet.
