Is it normal for my 7-month-old dog to pee every 2 hours at night?

I'm sorry you're dealing with this frustrating issue. If needing an early morning bathroom break is a change, I'd recommend starting with a vet visit to make sure she doesn't have a UTI, bladder stone, skin infection, or even organ function problem etc. Those issues all can all increasing the amount of water she's drinking, making her need to go out in the middle of the night. If there is no medical issue, then it's a house training problem, which is difficult at her age. Usually using a crate to re-house train as if she were a puppy is the most effective course of treatment to deal with this.

Hi, puppies can get urinary tract infections. I would watch her for urinating more frequently and in small amounts. At 7 months, she should be mostly house trained so this is not likely a behavior issue but it is still possible. I would take her to the vet for an exam if it happens a third time. They can put her on some antibiotics for this and she should be fine. Good luck!

If Sadie is urinating each time she goes outside overnight and urinating more frequently during the day this could be a sign of a urinary tract infection, which is not uncommon in a young female puppy. I'd recommend seeing your veterinarian who would likely check a urine sample for signs of infection. She may have also learned that if she whines to go out you'll wake up and she'll get a little play time so once you rule out a medical problem you may want to work on letting her cry for a bit in her crate before letting her out.

Hello. Jack Jack should definitely not be urinating every 30 minutes. This could be a physical problem, or he has some kind of psychological issue, especially if he is drinking more than a normal amount of water. I think it would be a good idea to see if his kidneys are OK & that he does not have any other issues with holding his urine. At the very least, he should be able to hold his urine a minimum of 4-6 hours at this age. Hopefully, he will be fine & he will outgrow this behavior, but I would recommend making sure there is not a medical reason for such frequent outings. At 3 months old, she's still in the middle of the house training process and it's normal for her to have multiple bowel movements a day. Keep working on the house training and being consistent. Using a crate at night could help her hold if through the night, but she may also need you to set an alarm and take her out for another month or two.

At his age, Sombra should be able to hold the urine 6 hours. However, needing to pee as soon as he wakes up is normal regardless of how long he slept. Most pets will gradually be able to hold the urine and sleep longer as they mature. It's worthwhile to have Sombra examined by the veterinarian to check for a urinary tract infection as this can cause sudden urination as well.
