Dog paw peeling from pavement, limping. Can I use Neosporin?

The most common growths that look like this are sebaceous adenomas or skin tags. You can soak the food in Epsom salts and apply a triple antibiotic ointment but the mass likely needs to be removed. Hello there! I'm so glad your pups are home safe. It sounds like you are doing right by them until their vet visit with the bandaging and Neosporin (be sure that no one eats the bandages - you certainly don't want any secondary GI problems!). The limping is probably from the paw damage, but your vet will give them a thorough exam to make sure that they don't have any other injuries. I recommend avoiding the Epsom salt soak for any open wounds as it may be irritating. Epsom salts are good for painful joints and the like, but we don't want to put salt into any cuts. If you think anything might be stuck in their paw pads, a soak in lukewarm water with a mild soap solution may be helpful. Just be sure to rinse and dry their paws very well afterwards to avoid any further moisture build-up in between the toes, which may harbor bacteria. I hope they both feel better soon!

Nugget may have blistered his feet from running outside or from chewing his feet from allergies. You have a couple of options. The first would be to take him to the veterinarian to be examined and to have the paw pad that is falling off trimmed away from the foot so it does not catch on anything in the environment. The second option would be to soak his feet in epsom salt soaks twice daily 10 minutes at a time and wait for the pad tissue to fall off on its own. I would also have him wear protective booties and applying a wound cream such as Sentry Wound ointment (can be found at Petco) while the feet are healing. This wound appears to be superficial so your initial decontamination with the warm water and soaking it in epsom salt should be enough. I would recommend keeping a close eye on this and making sure the foot does not become swollen and that there is no pus coming from the wound. You can soak the foot in epsom salt solution twice daily until this is healed. If Duke is going to be going outside in the dirt I would recommend putting a booty over his foot or a sock to prevent dirt from getting inside the wound. If there are any changes that indicate infection, I would recommend having a veterinarian examine Duke so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. If the scraps are superficial (first layer is scraped off) and it isn't a full thickness laceration then I would trim the flap hanging off (like a blister on our feet). Sometimes if the dog is painful it is best to see your vet for oral antibiotics and pain medications. I recommend soaking the feet in an Eposom salt bath twice daily and NOT walking them on hard surfaces (grass only) and keep walks short and to the point until the pads have healed. I would suggest that instead you consider taking Maggie to a veterinarian who can look at the affected paws more carefully and proceed with therapy accordingly. Licking off a small amount of neosporin should not harm Theo. If he continues to lick/chew his paws you may want to take him to the vet to be assessed for allergies. Licking/chewing the feet is a common sign of a dog having an environmental allergy (like to dust, grasses and pollens). I hope this helps.
