My dog's paw injury: Is it healing and what should I do next?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Kyro damaged his kwick Tuesday afternoon. Tuesday afternoon Vet gave antibiotic shot, ointment & bandage. Thursday I removed bandage. Kyro seem to be licking area but not kwick. He's still sensitive. How does it look? How long to heal? Besides cleaning It, anything I need to concern myself with? A sincere Thank you.

Poor Kyro! From the pictures, the area still looks a little swollen and you need to keep him from licking it. That will make it worse. Put an Ecollar on him to keep him from licking it. You can make one at home (I will put a link below on how to do this), or you can buy one at a pet store. Otherwise, it doesn't look red so I would not clean it unless the vet instructed you to clean it daily. Keep an eye on the swelling, and if it doesn't go down in a couple of days, take Kyro back into the vet for an exam. Good luck, I hope this helps!
