My dog won't eat rice on bland diet. Are pasta or noodles safe?

You can soak his kibble in warm water for a few days or you can feed a bland diet of plain white rice mixed with boiled boneless/skinless chicken breasts. If he is eating normally though, you can feed him his normal meals.

One other thing that you could try to help entice him to eat some of the white rice would be to pour some low sodium chicken broth onto it to help it have more flavor and be similar to the chicken that is eating. In general since he will hopefully be on this bland diet for a short period of time, if he continues to eat only the chicken or protein in the meal, this will not cause any significant problems. Yes, it is ok to feed rice or pasta long term. Maybe the regular food that Trouble currently is on is not good for him anymore. Some dogs, that have been eating one brand of food all life, suddenly develop intolerance or allergy. It may be worth to try Trouble on a different brand of food for senior dogs.

Chicken and rice is very bland and easy to digest, similar to humans eating crackers and ginger ale when we don't feel well. Chicken and rice are both also very common ingredients in many dogs foods, so they aren't really "human foods" - dogs tolerate them just fine, also. :)

Brave girl! She may develop some vomiting and or diarrhea, as this food may cause some irritation to her GI tract.
