My chihuahua has pale gums & vomiting after rabies shot. What's wrong?

If she vomited 6 times last night than you need to call your vet and give him/her an update. Your vet may want to see your dog again today for a recheck. She might need subcutaneous fluids again and/or an anti-vomiting medications. Hope our dog feels better soon!

It might related to the rabies shot but it might also be a coincidence. as it's been a week now i would advise taking her to the vet, she will require medical treatment in order to make the diarrhea stop.

Any time I have administered a vaccination and the animal then begins vomiting or exhibiting any other abnormal symptoms, I treat as a potential adverse vaccination reaction. I would recommend taking him back to the veterinarian that performed the vaccination to have him examined and treated for a potential vaccination reaction. This may have nothing to do with the vaccination but it would be best to have him examined and go from there. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction! Pancreatitis is typically caused by the ingestion of fatty foods such as bacon, pepperoni, greasy or buttery foods, or something rotten that they found outside or in the garbage, etc. I have never seen or heard of a case of pancreatitis being caused by any vaccinations, including Rabies. Labs and lab mixes are notorious for eating things that they shouldn't. Is there any possiblitiy that she may have gotten ahold of something that she shouldn't have either in the house or outside? Many "people foods" can cause pancreatitis in dogs. I hope she is on the road to recovery.

I would recommend that you have Dahlia examined by a vet. Poor appetite and vomiting are not likely related to vaccines administered 3 weeks ago. There can be lots of causes for this, such as dietary intolerance or indiscretion, food allergy, intestinal parasites, GI blockage, gastroenteritis, bacterial or viral infection, IBD, pancreatitis, among others. The vet will do a thorough examination and may recommend diagnostics such as x-rays or bloodwork.

Arlo might have a little pain at his injection site, or it’s possible that he has some back or neck pain. If you’re not sure exactly where he’s painful I’d recommend making an appointment to see your vet. If you think it’s the injection site you could apply a warm compress and contact your vet to get a prescription a safe pain medication.

Poor Butters! I'm sorry to hear that she's sick. There are many things that could cause the symptoms you're describing, so it's hard to say what might be wrong without being able to examine her and run some tests. Some common possibilities would include infectious diseases like parvo or distemper (if she isn't fully vaccinated), an intestinal obstruction, or ingestion of something toxic. Rabies is extremely rare in pet dogs in the United States and usually causes neurologic signs rather than GI issues, but this is something you can talk to your veterinarian about if you're concerned. Since this sounds like a serious problem, I would strongly recommend taking Butters to the vet today for an exam. He/she can test her for parvo and may also recommend lab work or other testing if needed to help diagnose the problem so she can get started on appropriate treatment right away.
