My dog is pacing, vomiting, shaking, and has green eye discharge. Why?

Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua | Female | unspayed | 10 lbs

My dog has been non-stop pacing for a day and a half, she has green pus coming from her eyes, she seems like she is confused, her tongue and the bottom of her paws are cold, she has vomited a lot over the last day and a half, she won't sit or lay down, she won't eat or drink anything, and she's twitching and shaking I don't know what is wrong with her. Please help me

This is very concerning as many of these signs point to a serious viral infection such as canine distemper. Please take Latte to your vet today. I hope it is not distemper, as this disease is not curable and very debilitating. It causes nerve damage and treatment is only supportive. Your dog could also have encephalitis/meningitis and this must be treated by a vet as well. Please take her to a vet today. Your vet will need to take blood and examine your dog.

I would recommend that Yoyo get checked out by a vet. A poor appetite and green eye and nose discharge can be symptoms of a life-threatening infection by Distemper Virus. There is no cure for this infection. Treatment depends on the symptoms and usually includes IV fluid therapy to maintain hydration, anti-nausea medications, probiotics if eating, antibiotics to prevent secondary bacterial infections, support for diarrhea, etc. Other causes for these symptoms include severe dehydration, other infection, sever allergies, among a few others.

Given that you did recently lose a dog with these symptoms, I would take Bella into a vet immediately. You don't want to potentially lose another dog, so I would say she needs veterinary care now. Poor Pookie! It definitely sounds like something is wrong. These symptoms could certainly be caused by distemper, but could also be due to many other illnesses, so it's not possible to say what's wrong without being able to examine her and run some tests. I would recommend taking her to the vet for an exam. He/she can do blood work or other testing if needed to help diagnose the problem and get her started on appropriate treatment depending on what is found.
