No, I would not use this on Snowy, it's not safe. This is for itchy eyes due to allergies, and it could be that he has an eye infection, which makes it a completely inappropriate medication. You should never try to self treat eye problems, as you could accidentally do serious damage to the eye. I would take him into the vet today. The vet can diagnose what is causing his problem with his eyes, and can treat him. Most all over the counter ocular lubricants are safe for dogs. I would not recommend using anything that is supposed to reduce redness because this could mask an underlying problem. If your dog seems irritated by the drops, he may be sensitive to one of the ingredients in the drops, and I would not continue use. If your dog has been diagnosed with an eye problem (dry eye, corneal ulcer), always check with your veterinarian regarding any additional ocular lubricants that you may be giving. There may be a better alternative that your vet can provide!

I would not listen to online sites saying to buy eye drops from the drug store. A lot of these sites are written by people who have no veterinary education at all, and some of their advice is frankly dangerous and potentially fatal. It is never advised to buy OTC eye drops for a cat because a cat's eye reacts differently to human eye medications than a human's eye does. In addition, some of these drops contain ingredients that are unsafe for use in cats. It sounds like Cleo may have an eye infection, and she will need to see a vet to get a topical antibiotic ointment to treat the infection. I would take her into the vet first thing Monday. Until then, it's fine to use a warm wash cloth to wipe away any gunk that comes from her eye. I hope this helps!

You can safely use OTC tear gel lubricant for keeping the cornea moist, but it won't cure uveitis or an ulcer or any kind of inflammatory process going on. Sometimes a warm water compress with a clean washcloth is helpful when the eye is painful as well. Angel may have a very painful process like glaucoma going on, so if she continues to be squinty you really need a diagnosis by a vet. Any pharamacist can help you find a gel lubricant for eyes that is sold over-the-counter.

This does look red and inflamed but may be associated with a cherry eye. Cold compresses, flushing with cooled boiled water and gentle massage of the corner of the eye can help to reduce mild cases but surgical repair is required in persistent cases.
