Why is my dog not himself after coming home from doggy daycare?

This may be from the stress of a new routine since you had to leave him. For some dogs, it is not uncommon for them to get lethargic and even have a decreased appetite due to changes like this. If he is not back to normal with in 24 hours of your normal routine again, then I would have him checked by your vet

Hello and welcome to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Just feeling 'down' and holding a head down sounds like a general sign of 'unwell'. Sometimes when at the vet the smells and excitement make the animals 'perk up' and then become ill again once they calm down at home. I recommend having Nevada seen again if he is still very weak and unwell. I would get his temperature checked, as well as bloodwork. Sometimes, unfortunately, we need to wait until animals get sicker or 'declare' themselves before we can figure out exactly what the problem is. Hello, sorry to hear about Rocky. It sounds like he is feeling unwell but these signs are non-specific. It may be caused by multiple reasons, most often a dietary indiscretion, ingestion of foreign material, or in puppies this young an infection with a virus or parasite may cause this. If Rocky is not eating by tomorrow, or if he begins to vomit, have diarrhea, or lethargy then he needs to be evaluated by his veterinarian immediately. You can offer him a bland diet tomorrow of plain white rice, skinless and boneless boiled chicken and cottage cheese low fat. Hope this helps and best of luck.

It's possible that he is sore from his tussle with the other dogs. I recommend that you take him in to your veterinarian to be checked over. If he got bit anywhere, it may be forming an abscess, which could cause him to be lethargic. and feel sick. Or, he may just be generally sore if he got knocked around a bit. Either way, it would be best to have your vet do a thorough physical exam to be on the safe side. If your vet thinks he is painful, he can prescribe some pain medication. It could be that Shadow played a lot while at your girlfriend's house, and the excitement of going to a new place and then back home may have tired her out. Given that this lethargy just started today, I wouldn't be too concerned just yet. Keep an eye on her, and if she is still acting this way after 24 hours or she develops other signs such as not eating, vomiting, and refusing to drink water, then I would be concerned. He could simply be tired, but if it goes on for more than 24 hours, I'd recommend a check up with his vet to make sure nothing is going on. He could have pulled a muscle or eaten something more than you realized during the visit. If he's not eating, extremely lethargic, or vomiting, I'd go to the vet ASAP.

I am so sorry to hear that Pepper isn’t feeling well. Boarding can be very stressful for dogs and sometimes they can develop stress colitis which can become very serious very quickly. Is she having any diarrhea? Other possibilities include Addison’s disease, intestinal foreign object/ obstruction, or even a viral disease. I would highly encourage you to have her evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible. IV fluids may be recommended in addition to x-rays and possibly blood work.
