Why is my 5-month-old puppy sad and lethargic after a dog park fight?

He could simply be tired, but if it goes on for more than 24 hours, I'd recommend a check up with his vet to make sure nothing is going on. He could have pulled a muscle or eaten something more than you realized during the visit. If he's not eating, extremely lethargic, or vomiting, I'd go to the vet ASAP.

It sounds as though Samson may have injured himself while playing at the dog park. He could have a sprain or strain of one of his muscles or ligaments in his joints. He may have over done it at the park and become slightly overheated as well. Make sure he has plenty of access to water and a comfortable place to rest for the night. If he continues being lethargic, limping and/or vomiting over the weekend I would recommend taking him to be checked out by your vet on Monday.

Poor Poofy! If the lethargy and weakness continues, he should be examined by a vet to determine the cause. He could have an infection or parasite and your vet can run some tests to help diagnose and then prescribe medications to help.

If he is otherwise doing well without limping, I think it would be ok to monitor him for now. However, if he develops a limp or any other signs such as crying in pain, inappetence or continued lethargy, have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. However, it would be best to have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to examine him to see if he appears to be painful for example which could be a reason to become lethargic and less interactive. He could also be somewhat traumatized by that encounter which he could potentially eventually get over. However, I still think that he should be evaluated. Good luck and have a good night! Differentials are many, from any disease that can spread systemically (causing lethargy for example) like infection, and anything that can cause pain/discomfort. The approach must be logic, A check up is needed if signs last for more than 24hours.
