My dog's acting strange after I left him alone for a few days, why?

That's a difficult situation! It could be the two changes in environment is a little stressful for him, and he may need a few more days to settle back into his normal routine. Dogs can get stressed when they leave home for a bit, stay in a new place, and then are returned to their normal home. I would give him a few more days to see if he returns to normal, and if he doesn't, I would take him into the vet for an exam. Sometimes, a medical illness such as an infection or injury can cause a dog to act differently from normal, and it would be good to rule that out if he's not back to himself in another couple of days.

If he's never been away from you, it may be that he is having some anxiety with you being gone that may be contributing. However, it could be something more serious. Since he's acting lethargic and is not eating, talk to your mum ( I assume this is who is caring for him currently?) and see if she can get him in to see a vet in the next few days. He could simply be tired, but if it goes on for more than 24 hours, I'd recommend a check up with his vet to make sure nothing is going on. He could have pulled a muscle or eaten something more than you realized during the visit. If he's not eating, extremely lethargic, or vomiting, I'd go to the vet ASAP.

It could from the stress of you being gone, but it could also be that Bear is sick. Monitor him tonight, and if he is still acting this way in the morning, I would have him seen by a vet for a health check. I hope this helps!

Hello. I am sorry Rocky isn't feeling well. Just like children going to day-care, doggy day-care is full of new viruses and bacteria that your dog can be exposed to. It is possible that Rocky picked up a virus or bacteria at doggy day-care, or possibly ate food that was not part of his normal diet. If he is lethargic, vomiting, having diarrhea, not active, not eating, having trouble breathing, or continues to not act himself then we would recommend that you have him seen by a veterinarian as he could require medical intervention.

If this was the first time you left Bane for that period of time, it may have been hard on him being left. He likely reacted with this behavior, but keep in mind as well, this can be a sign he is sick. If you have him back, he still won't go outside drink water, and his appetite is gone/low, then I would take him into the vet for an exam.
