My dog is not eating, vomiting, and might be pregnant. What to do?

If Karma is vomiting occasionally, then it might just be "morning sickness" from pregnancy. If she is vomiting consistently throughout the day and isn't keeping food down, this is concerning. Typically nausea during pregnancy is over by 4 weeks, but it is possible to last a bit longer. However, if this continues there may be another cause. Poor Gypsy. This could be due several things like a respiratory problem, eating something she shouldn't, all the hormones, a bacterial/viral infection, parasites and much more. Since she is pregnant, we have to be careful what medicines she gets put on. I would have your vet take a look at her to ensure all of the puppies are still okay. The best way to try to prevent it is to provide good supportive care and help the patient recover as quick as possible. If Cookie is ill, it may be hard to tell when she is going into labor. Ideally, the puppies would have their heartrates monitored several times daily by ultrasound to watch for any signs that they are dropping due to distress. She should also be monitored regularly for temperature drops or contractions.

Poor Princess! She could be pregnant but she could also have something else going on like parasites, eating something she shouldn’t, a bacterial infection or even a viral infection. You can try to offer her some plain chicken (no bones) and white rice to see if you can entice her to eat. If she doesn’t perk up soon, I would have your vet take a look at her. It sounds like something is effecting her stomach if she refuses to eat then vomit when she does. I would suspect bad inflammation in the orsophagus or stomach, or some sort of mass or ulcer causing irritation in the stomach. The best way to find out is to take her to the vet as she will need an ultrasound or xray to see the stomach.
