My dog won't eat or drink after vet visit, still vomiting. What to do?

It sounds like poor Henneha is very sick, and you've done the right thing by having her seen by a vet. I'm wondering if she is fully vaccinated, and if she's not, it could be that she has parvovirus. That is very serious, and it would make a dog quite sick. You can try giving her Nutri-cal, available over the counter perhaps at your local pet store, and you can offer her small amounts of Pediasure using a syringe or small turkey baster. If she continues to refuse that, then I would take her back into a vet. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

This is very very concerning and he needs to be taken back to a veterinarian. There is a possibility that he has an intestinal obstruction, or other serious intestinal problem, The next step would be xrays to see whether there is excessive gas and something blocking the intestine or stomach exit (pylorus). Please take him back to your veterinarian for a recheck.

The injection is called Cerenia, if this didn't help then you must take him back to the vet for a blood test and xray/ulrasound, he might be suffering from either a foreign body in the GI tract or severe gastrointestinal infection.

If he was recently at the vet for vomiting, and now is not eating or drinking anything, he should be seen again as this would make me concerned about the possibility of a foreign body, or pancreatitis, which would require additional therapy. If your vet didn't do x-rays or bloodwork at the previous appointment it's time to make sure there's nothing more serious going on. However, since your vet just saw Iron I would start by giving them a call with an update, in case they have other input based on their exam findings. Hope this helps and he feels better soon!

Poor Dough Boy! At this point, he should have an abdominal x-ray to make sure there isn't an obstruction, especially if the shot she gave him was an anti-vomiting injection and he is still vomiting. If the x-ray is negative than he should also have blood-work done to look for abnormalities as it is concerning that he is vomiting, lethargic, and losing weight. Besides, pushing the pill all the way back in his throat and holding his mouth closed until he swallows, there isn't much more you can do to administer an oral medication unless he would eat it in a treat. However, it sounds like he would just vomit the medicine back up. Please have the vet take a look at him again for a work-up. Hope he feels better soon!

Poor Snickers! He's so cute and I'm sorry he's so ill. You did the right thing by taking him into the vet yesterday. It's a small improvement that he has eaten something and drank some water, and the IV fluids he got likely helped with any dehydration. When a dog is very sick, it can take a couple of days for them to regain their appetite. I would continue monitoring him very closely, and if he starts vomiting food and water again, stops eating, and/or stops drinking water, I would rush him back into a vet right away. At that point, I'd recommend further tests such as an x-ray to rule out a foreign body obstruction. Keep offering him boiled chicken and water. Vomiting and inappetence can occur from many conditions such as foreign body ingestion and obstruction, pancreatitis, gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, among other possibilities. I am concerned that he could be showing signs of an obstruction which is something that requires therapy which sometimes includes surgery. I recommend that you have Jager evaluated by a veterinarian at this point for further assessment and treatment. This will likely require bloodwork and abdominal imaging in terms of diagnostics. Treatment would be based on findings. At the very least your veterinarian could start him on medications to make him feel better. In the meantime, keep water available at all times to try to prevent dehydration. Good luck and have a good night!
