My dog's nose is swollen inside for a week. What's the cause?

That is a really large swelling so he should be examined and treated by a vet. Your vet can do some testing to figure out the cause and then prescribe medications to treat. He may need an antibiotic, anti-histamine, corticosteroid, or other medications. Please call your vet and have him examined.

She may have injured it, have an infection, a growth in it, or is suffering from an allergic reaction. She will have to see a vet for this. If she can breathe ok, isn't lethargic, and is otherwise acting normally, it can wait until the morning. Hi there and thank you for using Pet Coach! From the pictures you have provided, I would suspect this to be a skin tumor. It looks to be benign and similar to what we call a sebaceous adenoma. It may have been much smaller previously and if it was bumped or traumatized may have grown in size due to inflammation. If this is bleeding and does not go down in size, I would suggest having it removed. Many of these can be frozen off with cryo treatment that many vet clinics provide as a service. This may be an allergic reaction to something she has come in contact with or possible dental inflammation, if it persists beyond 12hours or she is uncomfortable I wold recommend you have it checked by your vet and they can prescribe medication to bring the swelling down. Kennel cough is characterised by a harsh, persistent cough and sinus issues generally present with discharge, pain, discomfort and snuffling

I don’t think you need rush Kibo to the vet, but it should be examined. It could be a tumor, skin infection, fungal infection/ringworm, autoimmune disease, etc. The only way to know for certain what is going on is to examine a sample of cells under the microscope.

This is most likely due to an allergic reaction. On the muzzle this is usually happens with an insect sting, or reaction to a poisonous plant (i.e. poison oak). This is usually temporary, but can lead to a skin infection, so it's good to flush the area with cool water 2-3 times a day. Flush the area using a syringe or other dispensing device with cool water for five minutes. This may not be easy, because dogs tend to hate water getting near their face. I recommend having someone help you with holding Bob to make sure the area gets flushed well. After flushing, you can apply aloe gel to the area to provide more relief. If the swelling is not going down within two days, then I would reccomend taking him to the vet for an evaluation. It may take a week for it to look normal, but it should start to look better within a couple of days. These reactions have the potential to get worse, so if the swelling is increasing, or Bob is having trouble breathing, then be he should go to the vet as soon as possible for treatment. The concern here is that the swelling is spreading, and it could get big enough to obstruct her breathing. I think it's best to have her seen by a vet now to get this treated. I hope this helps.
