My dog has a growth on his nipple after neutering. Is it a skin tag?

Sometimes you can see these masses that are almost like extra, under developed teats. I recommend to as your vet if they think that's what these are. It doesn't look like a MCT, but they can take on different appearances. It maybe a benign growth or skin tag. The only way to find out would be to have Buddy examined by your veterinarian. A fine needle aspirate can be done in the clinic to collect samples for pathology. This may provide a diagnosis. In the meantime, monitor it for rapid change or growth. Consider having it removed if it causes pain, impedes motion or changes rapidly.

Without seeing her in person, it is difficult to say for sure what it is but it looks like a skin tag or a mass growing off of a nipple. Since it is new, it is always best to have your vet take a look at it once to ensure it doesn't need to be surgically removed. After that, if they think it is okay, I would just monitor it closely. This looks like a mass. It looks quite benign such as a wart or skin tag, however it is impossible to know for sure without testing the lump. You could have the lump tested/removed or simply monitor it for changes. I wouldn't be overly concerned about it.

Your veterinarian is most likely correct. From your photo this looks like a benign growth but it could be slightly infected which is why it looks different. It is not uncommon for these masses to get slightly raw/abrasions and have a small infection. I would consider having it removed at the time of his neuter so it will no longer pose any further issues.

Hello. You are correct, this is a skin tag, but a bit bigger than a tag. At this point, you have a pedunculated mass. About 99% of these are totally benign, but we do recommend removal just because they can continue to grow & become traumatized. Removal is curative.
