Can I give my dog Nexgard after Sentinel, even if it's only been 2 weeks?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I prescribe Nexgard and Sentinel together multiple times per day. I haven’t heard of any reactions. Just like people some dogs can react to certain medications. If you google any medication for human or animals you will find stories of adverse reactions. No drug doesn’t come without side effects. To be safe give the drugs 2 days apart the first time you give them. I have some clients that give one the 1st of the month and the other mid month. Personally I haven’t heard of any reactions going the 2 together. I hope this helps and I wish you all the best!

It is typically ok to space out flea/tick prevention by 2 weeks time span. I would recommend waiting the entire 14 days before using the Nexgard. The bath likely didn't strip any of the product off. If you do happen to see fleas on Dexter before the 14 day mark, you can safely give him a Capstar tablet (from your local pet store) which can rid the fleas off of him within 1 hr, but is not considered to be a flea preventative. I can also understand you wanting to go with a better product than the Frontline. I hope that you enjoy your trip with Dexter and that he remains flea/tick free. Best wishes and take care!

No worries. You can safely switch up flea medication every 2-4 weeks no problem. All flea prevention is labeled as safe for dogs but pets can have adverse reactions to just about any medication unfortunately. But these are not expected to happen. Yes, it's you can go ahead and switch now. The two products have different active ingredients (which is the point for your switch) and even if they didn't, you wouldn't overdose Pepe with doses two weeks apart, so you're good to go! Hello and welcome to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. It has been noted that topicals aren't working as well and NexGuard seems to be a good product right now. It won't be an issue to use NexGuard today with the Advantage applied yesterday. It is two different drugs that won't interfere with eachother. Best of luck with Ivan.

Hi and thanks for your request. The two products are based on different active molecules which are not know to interact after 3 weeks from last application. Yes, bravecto can be given relatively safely even though the correct administration should be after 4 weeks

The manufacturers of flea and tick products do not recommend using more than one product at the time, as there could be an increased risk of side effects. Seresto is a very good product, it will be worth to give it a go but you should wait about 4 weeks after Luna had NexGard tablet.
