Can I give Nexgard to my dog immediately after Advantage II for fleas?

I would wait one more week, then give the Advantage II. Until then, you can give him Capstar. It's a one time pill that starts killing fleas in 30 minutes, and it's safe to give now. You can give him one a day until you can apply the Advantage II. You will also have to disinfect the environment. Wash his bedding in hot soapy water, and vacuum the furniture and carpet surfaces. You can use a spray to kill fleas in the house, such as Indorex, or a flea bomb would work well to kill the fleas in the home. I hope this helps!

Hi and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Not 100% sure what you mean by an Advantix flea bath. Advantix is a topical flea treatment applied on the skin of dogs. Yes you can use Nexgard along with Advantix. Great multimodal flea/tick strategy. After you have used both oral and topical treatments together for 3 months or so, any environmental problem inside the home should be addressed. That gives enough time for most if not all of the immature stages to mature and be killed by the products. After that time period, you may be able to drop back down to one product each month. Depends on your geographical location and your particular flea problem. Good luck

Yes, it's you can go ahead and switch now. The two products have different active ingredients (which is the point for your switch) and even if they didn't, you wouldn't overdose Pepe with doses two weeks apart, so you're good to go! Good morning! Capstar is generally thought to be effective for 24-48 hours, so I don't think you need to give another Capstar if you gave one last night. The nexgaurd should not interact negatively with the spot-on product or bath because they work differently. If you are having difficulty with fleas in your pets then you may also need to treat your home and possibly your yard. Vacuum all floors (including wood floors) and furniture and throw the contents in the trash outside, wash all pet pedding in hot water if possible and put in hot dryer. Give it once a day until it’s been a week since you applied the Advantix, and then give him the Nexgard. Also be sure to disinfect your home, as fleas live in the environment, not on the dog. Wash his bedding in hot and soapy water, and vacuum all the carpets and furniture. Use a spray like Indorex or a flea bomb to kill all the fleas in the house. I hope this helps!

Yes, if you feel that you need additional flea protection, you can use a topical and an oral preventative at the same time. I do recommend that you separate them by 2 weeks. This is not because of toxic interactions but just to help overlap the coverage.
