My dog shows nausea signs, eats grass, and has bloody stool. Vet?

Hi and thanks for posting! This may be due to him ingesting a large amount of grass and perhaps other plant material which irritated his gastrointestinal tract. Sometimes there can be a a bit of blood present when the intestinal tract is inflamed or irritated. Certainly, this could be related to an ongoing parasitic infection or may have another cause entirely. You may try deworming him again with a broad spectrum dewormer such as Drontal Plus as well as placing him a on a bland diet of boiled chicken, rice, and plain canned pumpkin (not the pie filling) for a couple days and continue to monitor his signs at home. If the bloody stools do not resolve or he develops any further signs such as lethargy, vomiting, decreased appetite, then there is something more concerning going on here and will need to be worked up with his veterinarian. Blood in the feces can be observed with conditions such as colitis, gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, intestinal parasites, among many other possibilities. If this continues, I recommend that you have Sami evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. It sounds as Chloe is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

This can be caused by imbalance of the bacteria in the gut due to the antibiotics, if they have been given for another condition. This can also be caused by severe parasitic infections, bacterial infections, and conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease. I recommend having Oliver seen by the vet who prescribed the antibiotics, as they may recommend a probiotic to add to his treatment, or discontinue/switch the antibiotics.

Vomiting and diarrhea can occur secondary to conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, dietary indiscretion, parasites, among other possibilities. In addition, black stools can be indicative of bleeding into the small intestine or stomach which can happen secondary to an ulcer for instance. Bloody urine can be the result of an infection, stones, tumors, among other possibilities. I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. At the very least they can start him on medications to make him feel better and check his hydration status. In the meantime, keep water available at all times to try to prevent dehydration. The tar like appearance to his stool is likely due to digested blood, indicating bleeding in the GI tract of some kind (a growth, an ulcer, secondary to toxin ingestion, etc.). I would have him seen, have any necessary testing done (X-rays, bloodwork), and get started on treatment to resolve his issues (GI protectant, anti-nausea medication, anti-diarrheal, antacids, for example). Aw poor Jacky Gill! I'm very concerned about the blood in the vomit as this can indicate serve Gastrointestinal inflammation or ulcer formation. Jacky should see a veterinarian right away as he likely needs prescription medication to stop the vomiting and diarrhea. He may need fluids to help rehydrate him. It may also be a good idea to have X-rays done to ensure there is no intestinal blockage. Once he has received medical care a bland diet of boiled chicken and sweet potato or rice may also help him recover.
