Since it is a supplement, it is not regulated by the FDA which can lead to wide variations in amounts, ingredients and quality. Additionally, it can cause GI upset in some dogs and should not be given to dogs on certain antibiotics, chemo or blood thinners. There is a product, For-Bid, that is specifically for dogs that eat stool. It is sprinkled on food. You may be able to purchase it online, in the local Petco or from your veterinarian. Rule out other causes for the behavior such as boredom, curiosity, or nutritional deficiency.

It is not possible to know with just a picture. However, it is not recommended to give a dog Advil as this is not used in veterinary medicine due to its possible toxicity especially without possibly an appropriate dose. There is not much you can do at home without going to a veterinarian. For that reason, I recommend you consider going to your veterinarian for further assessment and possible treatment. They will start with a physical examination and possibly diagnostics depending on what the issue seems to be. Hi , it could be that Peter has been stung by an insect by looking at the swelling. The oedema (swelling) is most likely due to vasodilation and in this case most likely to a reaction to an insect bite. You can try to give him Benadryl to see if the swelling comes down, the dosage is 1 mg/pound. Benadryl can cause drowsiness and lethargy. If the swelling should progress and extend I would recommend that he is checked over urgently as it could impair his breathing. Hope this helps !

Mouth ulcers can be cause by the pet putting something caustic in his mouth, trauma or even from some kind of medical condition (i.e. kidney disease). Bee needs to have his mouth fully examined and a complete history to help find out the potential cause here. In general, a mixed dog around this weight should be on an adult brand food and given about 1.5 cups daily. Some good brands to consider are: Royal Canin, Hill's Science Diet, Eukanuba or Purina. I hope that you are able to get Bee's mouth sores/ulcers looked at soon so that you can go over potential treatment options based on the undelrying cause. Best of luck and take care.

Do not give any otc pain medications to pets. They metabolize then differently and many are toxic. You can try using warm compresses for 5-10 minutes to see if that helps. I would try to get her to the vet as soon as you can. I'm a bit worried there could be infection from looking at the swelling.

I'm sorry to hear that Tobias has inflamed gums! Without being able to examine him or at least see a photo of the problem, it's hard to say what might be causing this. He may have an infected tooth, a growth of some kind, or generalized periodontal disease. Most of these problems will require veterinary attention to address properly, so I would recommend having him examined by a vet as soon as you are able to so that the problem can be treated. In the meantime, you can try using an over-the-counter dental rinse for dogs if you like - Vetoquinol Dentahex rinse is a good choice for general oral health. This will not treat the underlying problem that is causing the inflammation, but may help to make Tobias a bit more comfortable until you are able to see the vet.

Poor guy. This swelling looks quite irritating indeed. It could be a blister since he is so young and due to the way it looks. I would recommend offering soft food only to Bryan Kraber to prevent further irritation of the area. Also a water additive can be used to help flush his mouth and keep the area from getting infected. If he still seems uncomfortable by tomorrow, then I would schedule a vet appt to have this treated with pet friendly pain medication. Over the counter pain medicine should be avoided in pets due to the high risk of causing acute kidney/liver failure, so its best to consult with your vet if needed.
