Why is my dog's mouth corner red and swollen? What should I do?

This redness could be related to seasonal allergies as well, and it's possible that Dakota has a secondary skin infection. Mites or even fungal disease could cause symptoms like this as well. This will be more common if she is experiencing irritated skin around her anus as well or if she has had any vomiting or diarrhea. If not, check her eyelid margins, ears and footpads for any lesions. These are commonly affected areas for autoimmune skin disease. If her skin does not heal or spreads, she will need to see her veterinarian. In the meantime, keep her muzzle clean and dry. Is there anything she could have chewed on to cause that inflammation in the corners, mainly electrical cords? It seems very raw and blistered but does not appear infected by that picture. All you can do is clean the area with soap and water as any other topicals will just get ingested. If it is not better in a day or so take her to your vet for an exam to see why it is not clearing

Based on the photos you provided, I would suspect this to be an allergy or dermatitis from some type or irritant. Lip fold dermatitis can occur where there is excess skin causing saliva to become trapped leading to inflammation / irritation of the skin. Douxo PS Chlorhexidine combination shampoo and bathe twice weekly until resolved 2. Malacetic conditioning spray and apply to the affected area twice daily until resolved 3. Zymox topical ointment and apply twice daily until resolved.

From the photo, Puddin’s mouth does look red and I am suspicious of an infection or an allergic reaction. I recommend to protect the area from any trauma by having her wear an Elizabethan collar at all times. I also recommend to have her examined by the veterinarian to get this cleared up.
