Why does my dog have blisters or sores around his mouth?

Those look like it may be a reaction to something he's come into cointact with. If you use plastic bowls, switch them out for glass, ceramic or stainless steel. If it clears up then plastic allergy is probably the culprit. If he's very itchy, rubbing his face, if he makes the spots start bleeding and/or if they spread, get him in to see your vet as soon as you can as this could be a symptom of a different problem.

That lesion looks very inflamed. It’s possible it’s a reaction to something he chewed on but an infection is also possible. I recommend to have him examined by his veterinarian to rule out something more severe like a tooth root abscess. He may also get medication to help heal the lesion. Best of luck.

This is probably a bacterial infection, in many cases this is due to the water bowl, you need to switch the water bowls to stainless steel bowls and you must change the water several times a day. the condition will need to be treated with an antibiotic course, you will need to take Alex to the vet ASAP in order to get it treated.

Based on the picture, I would suspect something infectious such as a virus or bacterial infection. It could be a severe case of acne but it is a different presentation than I've seen before. I would recommend having this looked at by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. She may need to be on an oral antibiotic and topical ointment to treat this. I hope this helps!

I would guess Lola could have a bacterial infection around her mouth. Trauma could also cause similar lesions. If she seems itchy it is possible that she has an infection secondary to allergies. A bacterial skin infection is often treated with oral antibiotics so I would recommend making an appointment to have your vet take a look.

This is especially likely if Russell had started using a plastic food or water bowl in the last month. If so, switch back to ceramic or steel. Poor guy. Yes this does seem to be a localized reaction and it could be to just about anything that has been newly introduced or even something Mork got into that he is having an allergic reaction to. I wouldn’t suspect this is caused by brushing his teeth too hard because this is his lip area that looks irritated. It’s best to visit your vet for some medication to help combat this reaction, especially if this area is bothering him and not improving on its own within a few days.
